Women Workplace Safety & Abuse Awareness Programme
Women abuse in the workplace is a serious and often unspoken issue that affects the safety, dignity, and well-being of women employees. Such abuse may take various forms, including verbal harassment, emotional manipulation, psychological pressure, sexual harassment, and gender-based discrimination. These behaviors not only harm individuals but also create an unhealthy work environment that impacts morale, trust, productivity, and organizational growth.
Many women hesitate to report workplace abuse due to fear of retaliation, job insecurity, or social stigma. Creating awareness, promoting respect, and establishing strong support systems are essential steps toward building a safe and inclusive workplace.
Project Objectives
To raise awareness among employees about different forms of abuse faced by women in the workplace
To promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive working environment for all staff members
To help employees identify early signs of abuse and understand appropriate responses
To encourage reporting of abuse without fear of retaliation or judgment
To provide information about available support systems such as legal aid, medical help, counseling, and police assistance
The Women Workplace Safety & Abuse Awareness Programme organized by TIMES HEALTH CARE FOUNDATION & CHARITABLE TRUST at Global Mission Hospital & Research Institution focused on creating awareness about women’s safety, workplace abuse, and available support systems among hospital staff and nurses. Through expert-led sessions by the Women’s Welfare Committee (181), participants gained a clear understanding of different forms of workplace abuse, reporting mechanisms, and access to legal, medical, police, and counseling support. The programme encouraged open dialogue, empowered women to recognize and report abuse without fear, and promoted a respectful, inclusive, and safe working environment, while also extending awareness to the wider community through poster distribution within the hospital premises.
