Health and Hygiene Awareness Programme

The Health and Hygiene Awareness Programme was organized to educate young students on the importance of maintaining personal cleanliness, healthy eating habits, regular physical activity, and disease prevention. The programme aimed to instill good hygiene practices at an early age, helping children grow into healthy, responsible, and disciplined individuals. The session was designed to be child-friendly, interactive, and practical, ensuring that students could easily understand and follow the concepts taught.

Project Objectives

To create awareness among students about the importance of health and hygiene in daily life.
• To educate students on proper personal hygiene practices such as hand washing, oral care, bathing, and cleanliness of clothes and surroundings.
• To encourage healthy eating habits and help students understand the importance of balanced nutrition.
• To promote regular physical activity and highlight the role of exercise in maintaining good health.
• To prevent the spread of common diseases by teaching basic hygiene and sanitation practices.

The Health and Hygiene Programme was successfully conducted by The Times Health Care Foundation & Charitable Trust in association with the Department of Social Work, Alagappa University, at Christ the King Nursery & Primary School, Pallathur, with the objective of promoting healthy habits among young students. The programme focused on creating awareness about personal hygiene, cleanliness, balanced nutrition, regular exercise, and disease prevention through simple, age-appropriate explanations. Ms. Emme, Psychiatric Counsellor, educated students on correct handwashing techniques and emphasized key hygiene practices, along with providing important safety tips for celebrating Diwali responsibly. The session was followed by an engaging fun camp organized by the Program Coordinator Ms. Gayathri and Social Work Trainees, featuring interactive games and activities that made learning enjoyable. The enthusiastic participation of students reflected the programme’s success in effectively instilling awareness about health, hygiene, and safety in their daily lives.
