World Youth Skills Day is observed every year on 15th July to emphasize the importance of equipping young people with skills essential for employment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development. In commemoration of this significant day, SMSV Girls Higher Secondary School, Karaikudi, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, Times Health Care Foundation & Charitable Trust, and Global Mission Hospital & Research Institute, organized a special awareness programme for students focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Education.

SUICIDE AWARNESS PROGRAMME

As part of Suicide Prevention Week – September 2025, the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of Seethalakshmi Achi College for Women, Pallathur, affiliated to Alagappa University, Karaikudi, organized an Awareness Programme on Suicide Prevention on 11th September 2025 (Thursday) at 2:00 PM in the college premises.

The programme was conducted in collaboration with the Times Health Care Foundation & Charitable Trust, with active participation from students of the Social Work Department, Alagappa University. The primary objective of the programme was to create awareness about mental health, stress management, and suicide prevention among students.

Many women hesitate to report workplace abuse due to fear of retaliation, job insecurity, or social stigma. Creating awareness, promoting respect, and establishing strong support systems are essential steps toward building a safe and inclusive workplace.

Maternal health care & nutrition supplies program

The Maternal Health Care & Nutrition Supplies Programme was successfully conducted across the districts of Sivagangai, Ramanathapuram, and Pudukkottai through 73 sessions, benefiting a total of 238 women. The initiative focused on providing essential maternal healthcare services, nutritional guidance, and necessary supplements to support the health and well-being of expectant and new mothers. By promoting proper nutrition, health awareness, and safe maternal practices, the programme aimed to ensure safer pregnancies, healthier mothers, and improved outcomes for both mothers and their children, reflecting a strong commitment to maternal and child health within these communities.
